Our Speaker this month will be Tim Reed from Lake Pan Bees and SCBC, giving a presentation on catching swarms
and doing removals. This is a great way to expand your apiary as well as removing feral colonies
from the environment.

is a third generation beekeeper and will cover Queen and Hive health and nutrition.

Amy Vu from the Honey Be Research and Extension Laboratory, UF/Gainesville, FL
Ms. Vu will be speaking on the Yellow Legged Hornet (Vespa velutina) which was found in Savannah, GA last year.
This invasive hornet has the ability to wipe out honey bee colonies. Everyone is invited tp attend this
presentation. Even if you aren’t interested in becoming a beekeeper, it is important
to be educated on the identification and behaviors of this pest.
